Approach

Clients usually come into therapy because they are struggling with something they have tried to resolve themselves and feel stuck. I will help you uncover and understand these challenges and move through them in healthier ways. In our therapy together, your strengths and resilience are honoured. You will be listened to, respected, and supported without judgement. You may come to understand coping strategies that you’ve used to manage pain and difficult emotions and decide to explore new and healthier ways to manage challenges you face in your everyday life.

I believe in the great healing capacity of creativity and integrate humour, writing, and art into therapeutic work.

My approach to therapy is client-centered, relational, psychodynamic, and trauma informed. I draw on Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), contemplative psychotherapy, dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). I use a variety of techniques to support and assist clients to realize their goals for change and feel happier.
